Rainbow Network Communications, a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corporation, has been at the forefront of innovation in cable programming for more than 20 years. RNC and FPDI formed five-year technology alliance and purchase agreement. During the term of the alliance, RNC will work exclusively with FPDI as its technology provider for all activities in the transcoder and archive space. Under the terms of this agreement, RNC has purchased DIVArchive and BitScream technology for its Asset Management system installation.

Rainbow will also work exclusively with FPDI in jointly developing new technology and enhancements of current FPDI products. This strategic alliance has already been instrumental in designing, producing and implementing the Windows® Media 9 playout server.
