SAMMAsolo single stream multi-format tape migration.

SAMMAsolo is a single-stream migration solution that supports a wide variety of video tape formats on input and then in-flight simultaneously delivers multiple digital files: frame accurate lossless preservation quality, broadcast quality mezzanine, and proxy. There are a wealth of formats available and SAMMA can produce up to five different simultaneous digital output files in real-time.

Administration settings determine actions upon error detection, capturing metadata and setting "pass-fail" conditions for migration, no longer do you have to watch every inch of videotape during migration. SAMMAsolo and SAMMArobot come with a graphical metadata viewer and also provide remote access to the metadata collected during migration. This allows users to determine the quality and success of migration of their tape library, wherever they are and whenever they want to check progress.

The SAMMAsolo system includes, a workflow step for tape accessioning that provides a visual inspection log, bar-coding, and begins the cataloging process by managing the metadata for each tape. This prepares the tape for migration and provides important quality control information. The system is run on XP or newer versions of Windows with a USB barcode scanner and printer (Supports both 1D and 2D barcode formats and human-readable labels).

SAMMArobot the solution for large tape library migration.

SAMMArobot is an automated high throughput migration system that provides up to 1000 hours a week of videotape content conversion. The SAMMArobot is loaded with batches of between 48 and 80 videotapes, depending on format, migrating up to seven tapes simultaneously, each with their own settings for error detection and multiple digital file outputs.

A number of configurations of SAMMArobot are available to meet your precise needs. The system can be configured as a single format solution for 60 Betacam or VHS, 48 U-matic, or 80 DVCAM/DVCPro cassettes handling NTSC, PAL, or SECAM. This streamlined robotic system provides high-speed, high quality, cost effective migration for large videotape libraries.

All of the features of SAMMAsolo are delivered with SAMMArobot, including the metadata viewer and remote metadata access - allowing users to determine the quality and success of the migration of their tape library without manually sifting through each file.

Options

SAMMAclean raises the success rate of tape migration throughput by gently and effectively cleaning videotapes to reduce the defects due to dirt, and to identify other defects prior to tape migration. Mechanical issues such as poor packing and abnormal tension are collected and meta-data is generated for later reference. SAMMAclean runs at 1/10th VTR tension. Graphical reports are created with statistical analysis.

SAMMAplayer provides a jpeg2000 MXF wrapped video player with complete time-code functionality including: forward and reverse high-speed shuttle; frame-by-frame jog controls; and jump-to frame ability. This product is available as a free software tool, or a hardware player. The hardware version includes a PCI codec card for a Windows XP or better PC. This hardware upgrade provides broadcast quality SDI output in real-time. Both players include a DirectShow compatible decoder allowing video to be viewed with time-code in a Windows Media Player.
